Steven Rauch was born in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. The youngest of four, he graduated in the mid-1970s and got a scholarship to play soccer at Lynchburg College in Virginia.  He later dropped out of college and began working at United Jersey Bank, then moved on to getting a Dog Grooming Certificate at Stanton School of Dog Grooming in Manhattan, NY, and started his own business with “Have Scissors Will Travel.” He moved his dog grooming business to Carpinteria, California. Ultimately, he lost everything due to substance abuse, but got clean and sober in 1980, and resumed his education studying Public Relations, Public Speaking, and Journalism. Rauch graduated from Chavez Institute as a Private Investigator in 1986 and received his Detective License in the State of California in 1989. He moved his family in 2009 to Blair, Nebraska, where he is a full-time private detective.
